What do you get when you mix classic architecture with playful design? Our Bright & Bold Creekside Estate! This renovation was a true collaboration with the owners, our design team, and the production team who took the plans from blueprint to reality.
Our clients had a beautiful home with a lot of raw potential. It was, however, a little too ornate and dark to fit their style. They wanted to change the overall feel of the home when you walk in, without heavy, timely, and costly changes to the layout of the home itself. Their wish list also included more storage and functionality, particularly in the kitchen.
Every Show Needs a Star
Every design has a jumping-off point. We can look back on each project and pinpoint the idea, the inspiration photo, or the design element that ended up setting the tone for the whole project. In this case, it was a gorgeous range hood our clients had purchased. Laconche ranges are exquisite, French ranges that you can’t help but admire. Along with all this European charm, the clients selected a gorgeous terracotta color for the range that ended up inspiring the rest of the space.
With the playful color yet classic design, we knew we had room to choose fun but sophisticated finishes for the lighting, fixtures, and interior elements. We especially loved the wallpaper selection for the Powder Bath!
Strategic Storage
When it came to creating more kitchen storage, we found a unique opportunity to create a beverage/coffee bar for visible storage, as well as a Butler's Pantry for items you would rather stash out of sight. Thinking about storage in this way meant we didn't have to compromise on the design of the space by working around large appliances. Those items could stay accessible but hidden away while the bar allowed for more collected items to shine.
